Which rules can apply to Transavia flights

Transavia is registered here as an EU/EEA-regime carrier.

  • EU261 can apply to departures from EU airports on any airline, and to arrivals into the EU from outside the EU when an EU carrier operates the flight.
  • UK261 can apply to this EU carrier on departures from UK airports and on arrivals into the UK from abroad.
  • Whether a given flight is covered still depends on the operating carrier, the airports, the delay at final arrival and the stated cause.

This is orientation from the carrier's registration, not advice on a specific flight. Use the calculator for a preliminary check.

Transavia: how to prepare your claim

Transavia's contact form accepts both disruption costs and compensation under the Flight disruptions category. Its help centre explains what happens after submission: an email acknowledgement should arrive within minutes when the request reaches the right channel, followed by a stated response window of three to six weeks.

Choose Flight disruptions and split the amounts

Open the official submit-claim article, follow the contact form and choose Flight disruptions. Describe the flight change, cancellation or delay and distinguish any compensation figure from the list of expenses. A missing-baggage claim has a different evidential trail, including its airport report; do not assume the flight-disruption category also records a baggage incident.

HV and TO bookings need the right operator

Transavia Netherlands and Transavia France should be identified from the itinerary, especially when the trip was sold through KLM or Air France. An Amsterdam or Paris departure gives the EU starting point; a standalone return from outside the EU also requires the EU operating-carrier check. If you arranged your own onward ticket after the Transavia flight, preserve the separate reservations rather than describing them as one protected connection.

Use the published window without treating it as a payout promise

The three-to-six-week statement is Transavia's published response guidance, not a measured average or a guarantee of payment. If no acknowledgement arrives, verify the submitted email address and the form route. When a refusal mentions adverse weather or airspace restrictions, compare the reason with your actual service and ask for any missing explanation. The expense decision should remain identifiable even if compensation is declined.
