Which rules can apply to Kuwait Airways flights
Kuwait Airways is not registered here as an EU or UK carrier.
- EU261 and UK261 generally apply to its flights only when they depart from an airport in the EU/EEA/Switzerland or the UK.
- Flights on this airline that arrive in the EU or UK from elsewhere are generally outside EU261/UK261, but other national or contractual rules may apply.
- Check which airline operated each leg: a code-share ticket can combine carriers with different coverage.

Kuwait Airways: how to prepare your claim
Kuwait Airways cases can combine a European flight and an onward connection at Kuwait International (KWI). Write down the KU sectors and the final destination on the purchased itinerary. Airline compensation, unused-ticket reimbursement and a consequential-loss insurance claim each need a clearly stated request, even when they arise from the same delay.
Customer Relations is the published claim channel
The airline's EU Regulation page directs compensation requests to Customer Relations and specifies that the person claiming should be a passenger. Its Customer Relations page offers the general written-feedback route. Use the official contact shown there, include the ticket and flight date, and state whether you act for other travellers with their authority. Reservation enquiries and phone support should not replace a retained written claim.
Check where the Kuwait journey started
A Kuwait Airways departure from an EU airport can fall under EU261, and one from a UK airport under UK261. A standalone KU flight from Kuwait to the EU or UK does not fall within those rules solely because of its destination. A one-booking European outbound connection through KWI is different: retain the initial departure and final arrival so the airline can assess the complete covered journey.
Use the UK dispute directions only for the right case
Kuwait Airways publishes a separate UK dispute-resolution page; consult its current directions if the airline's final response does not resolve a UK case. Before escalating, ask whether a refusal considered a missed connection or just the KWI landing. If it refers to another operator, compare that with your boarding pass. No universal compensation turnaround is verified here; preserve the first claim date and any final response rather than assuming an immediate transfer.
