Which rules can apply to Singapore Airlines flights
Singapore Airlines is not registered here as an EU or UK carrier.
- EU261 and UK261 generally apply to its flights only when they depart from an airport in the EU/EEA/Switzerland or the UK.
- Flights on this airline that arrive in the EU or UK from elsewhere are generally outside EU261/UK261, but other national or contractual rules may apply.
- Check which airline operated each leg: a code-share ticket can combine carriers with different coverage.
This is orientation from the carrier's registration, not advice on a specific flight. Use the calculator for a preliminary check.

Guides relevant to Singapore Airlines
Route guides through SIN
Route guides are not specific to Singapore Airlines: several airlines fly most of these routes, so confirm the operating carrier on your booking.
Alliance, group and hub facts last checked against Wikipedia: Singapore Airlines, Star Alliance. These are not delay statistics: FlightRefundCalc does not publish punctuality or compensation-outcome figures for Singapore Airlines.
Singapore Airlines: how to prepare your claim
For a Singapore Airlines journey via Changi (SIN), distinguish the late long-haul arrival from the delay at your booked final destination. An SQ connection to another Asian or Australian airport can change the claim timeline substantially. Preserve the through-ticket and note if an onward flight was operated by a different airline.
Feedback and the separate disruption statement
Submit the completed-journey complaint through Singapore Airlines' feedback route. The Help Centre separates this from changes and refunds. It also offers a Flight Disruption Statement for documentary proof: request that if you need evidence for the claim or insurance. A statement confirms a travel event; it does not itself ask for EU261 or UK261 payment. Name the legal remedy in the feedback submission.
Singapore-origin tickets need a different scope check
EU261 can cover an SQ-operated departure from the EU, including a relevant same-booking onward connection. UK261 can cover the UK departure. A standalone Singapore-to-Europe flight on Singapore Airlines does not qualify solely because Europe is the destination. Check the actual first departure of the disrupted journey rather than your nationality, payment currency or the country where the ticket was bought.
A document deadline is not a claim outcome
If the response only supplies a disruption statement, ask for the compensation decision separately. For a Changi misconnection, compare the final arrival recorded in the reply with the replacement flight, and clarify whether any airport restriction affected that particular sector. We have not verified a universal Singapore Airlines compensation payment period. Use the feedback case reference for progress and keep document-request correspondence alongside it.
