Dubai International Airport (DXB) passenger rights
Practical preparation for a delay, cancellation or missed connection involving Dubai. Start with the complete ticketed journey and operating airline—not the airport name alone.

DXB: connections and disruption help
Dubai International has three terminals, and a terminal number is different from a concourse or gate letter. Record both when a disruption moves your departure: T3 with a different concourse is not the same change as a transfer from T2 to T3.
Check DXB against DWC before accepting rerouting
Dubai World Central–Al Maktoum (DWC) is a separate airport. If a replacement booking says DWC, ask the airline how the journey from DXB will be arranged, where checked baggage must be collected and whether entering the UAE is necessary. Save the replacement ticket and any ground-transport instructions. A city name of Dubai alone does not identify the arrival airport.
Use the transfer route for your actual terminal
Dubai Airports publishes terminal-specific transfer guidance and maps. Confirm the operating flight and its current terminal, particularly on an Emirates/flydubai connection. Ask a transfer desk whether your boarding pass and baggage are already checked through before following an arrivals exit. The map is useful for orientation, but does not establish whether your particular ticket permits an airside transfer.
Keep the Dubai connection as a separate timeline
For a missed onward flight, save the inbound arrival notification, connection boarding pass, gate-change message and eventual replacement arrival. Record where you sought help: terminal, concourse and desk. If you paid for meals or an overnight stay while waiting in Dubai, retain itemised receipts and the airline's written instructions rather than combining them with expenses from your original departure airport.

Departing from DXB
Departure from Dubai International Airport alone does not create a fixed EU261 or UK261 band. An arrival into the EU/EEA/Switzerland or UK may require the operating carrier's status to be checked.
Arriving at DXB
If DXB is the final destination, keep the scheduled and actual door-open or arrival record. Coverage can come from the departure country or operating carrier rather than this airport's location.
