CDG–DXB: distance and itinerary

The great-circle distance between CDG and DXB is approximately 5,239 km, in the over 3,500 km band. This endpoint calculation does not add detours. For a through connection, check the original departure and last ticketed destination before selecting a compensation band.

What makes this airport pair different

Paris–Dubai begins at Charles de Gaulle, not Orly. An Emirates-operated departure from CDG can fall under EU261 even though Emirates is based outside Europe. The reverse DXB–CDG flight on Emirates does not acquire EU coverage simply because the aircraft lands in France.

Which rules to test for CDG → DXB

CDG is an EU/EEA departure, so EU261 scope does not depend on the operating airline being European. For CDG–DXB, test the actual disruption and cause next. If another regime also applies, the same disruption is not an invitation to collect duplicate compensation.

Connections, alternatives and useful evidence

If a Paris disruption leads to a replacement through another Gulf airport, retain the revised connection and the original Dubai destination. Ask whether the airline is supplying a flight to DXB or ending the itinerary at Abu Dhabi. A ground transfer changes the practical comparison and should be agreed in writing.

DXB: arrival and onward travel

Dubai International has three terminals, and a terminal number is different from a concourse or gate letter. Record both when a disruption moves your departure: T3 with a different concourse is not the same change as a transfer from T2 to T3.
