CDG: connections and disruption help

At Charles de Gaulle, “Terminal 2” is not precise enough to plan a disrupted connection. Keep the complete terminal and gate designation and follow the airport's connecting-flight route rather than assuming the arrivals exit is the quickest way.

Use the actual arrival and departure pair

Air France's connection planner accounts for terminals and security or border checkpoints. Enter the replacement flight details when your itinerary changes: a route prepared for the original gate can become irrelevant. Follow yellow connection signs and check airport screens or the airline app along the way. If a bus or train is involved, note the service staff direct you to instead of trying to reconstruct the transfer later.

Check what is protected before leaving transit

A single connecting ticket and two separately bought flights need different recovery plans. If the inbound delay makes a through connection impossible, ask the operating airline for its rerouting offer before buying another flight. With separate tickets, check the onward airline's bag-drop deadline and whether checked bags must be collected. Ask about hotel access and entry documents before crossing the border during an overnight wait.

Do not mix CDG with Orly

A replacement at ORY is a change of airport, not another Charles de Gaulle terminal. Keep the written airport-change offer, ground-transport arrangement and baggage instructions. If a train forms part of your booked journey, retain its reservation too. For a missed flight, save both flight numbers, full gate codes and the final arrival time so the sequence can be assessed.

Departing from CDG

A journey departing Charles de Gaulle Airport normally starts with the EU261 route test. The operating carrier, final ticketed destination, timing and airline-recorded cause still determine the next step.

Arriving at CDG

For a flight arriving at CDG from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland, identify whether the operating airline is an EU/EEA/Swiss carrier. The marketing airline on the ticket may be different.
