MAN–DXB: distance and itinerary

The great-circle distance between MAN and DXB is approximately 5,655 km, in the over 3,500 km band. This endpoint calculation does not add detours. For a through connection, check the original departure and last ticketed destination before selecting a compensation band.

What makes this airport pair different

Manchester–Dubai is an Emirates route, but Manchester and the London airports are not interchangeable departure points. A proposed Heathrow replacement requires a real positioning journey. Ask who arranges that transport, and retain the time when you were told about the new airport.

Which rules to test for MAN → DXB

MAN departure puts this direction within UK261's territorial scope on any operating airline. That does not establish payment: arrival delay, cancellation notice, replacement timings and the proven cause still matter. Assess DXB–MAN separately; a return ticket does not make both directions identical.

Connections, alternatives and useful evidence

A Manchester-origin booking continuing through DXB to Pakistan, India or Australia can depend on the final arrival beyond Dubai. Show the onward ticket rather than submitting only MAN–DXB. On a standalone DXB–MAN Emirates return, UK arrival does not by itself establish UK261 protection.

DXB: arrival and onward travel

Dubai International has three terminals, and a terminal number is different from a concourse or gate letter. Record both when a disruption moves your departure: T3 with a different concourse is not the same change as a transfer from T2 to T3.
