SYD: connections and disruption help
Sydney Kingsford Smith uses SYD in Australia; it is not Sydney, Nova Scotia (YQY). Within SYD, T1 is international and T2/T3 are domestic. An international-to-domestic connection therefore needs a real terminal-transfer plan, not just a walk to the next gate.
Check airline transfer eligibility before using the public route
Sydney Airport lists airline transfer services as well as its public terminal bus, train, taxi and other options. Ask your airline which arrangement applies to the ticket and how checked bags are handled after entry formalities. If you must use the public bus, check its current operating hours and pick-up point. Its journey time alone does not include immigration, baggage collection, waiting or another security check.
Know whether the replacement leaves T2 or T3
A domestic rebooking can change the terminal as well as the airline. Read the new boarding pass and consult the airport map before joining a queue. If the original connection was protected, preserve that itinerary and the reason for replacement; if the domestic ticket was separate, keep it clearly identified. Ask for assistance immediately if a terminal change makes the issued boarding time unworkable.
Plan for an overnight disruption instead of assuming continuous access
Check terminal and transfer-service operating hours when an evening delay becomes an overnight stay. Obtain hotel and return-transport instructions before leaving the airport. Record the actual international arrival and later domestic arrival separately, together with the offered alternatives. Keep receipts in their original currency and retain the airline voucher so duplicate or personally chosen costs are not mixed into the account.

Departing from SYD
Departure from Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport alone does not create a fixed EU261 or UK261 band. An arrival into the EU/EEA/Switzerland or UK may require the operating carrier's status to be checked.
Arriving at SYD
If SYD is the final destination, keep the scheduled and actual door-open or arrival record. Coverage can come from the departure country or operating carrier rather than this airport's location.
