CPH: connections and disruption help

At Copenhagen, check-in in Terminal 2 or 3 does not by itself tell you the remaining route to a gate. Border-control position and the gate area matter when a European connection changes to a non-Schengen departure.

Plan from the gate shown today

Use CPH's official map to locate the gate, passport control and transfer facilities. After a change, follow the new gate assignment rather than your original terminal entry point. The airport recommends tracking flight updates in its app; keep screenshots of a late reassignment if it materially changes your route. Leave enough time to reach boarding after any passport check, not merely to arrive at the checkpoint.

A journey through Copenhagen can end in another country

If your onward ground journey is into Sweden, distinguish that independently arranged train or road trip from the destination on your flight booking. A delayed arrival at CPH and a missed separate train are not the same event as an airline-protected connecting flight. Save the rail booking and extra costs separately if you intend to ask an insurer or transport provider to assess them.

Ask the right questions before an overnight wait

Confirm the next flight's gate area, whether you must retrieve luggage and whether you can enter Denmark for the proposed hotel. CPH's passport-control guidance is useful for the airport route; the airline must confirm rebooking and assistance. Keep the disruption notification, gate-change times and the final replacement itinerary together, especially if a domestic Scandinavian sector is added or removed from the original booking.

Departing from CPH

A journey departing Copenhagen Kastrup Airport normally starts with the EU261 route test. The operating carrier, final ticketed destination, timing and airline-recorded cause still determine the next step.

Arriving at CPH

For a flight arriving at CPH from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland, identify whether the operating airline is an EU/EEA/Swiss carrier. The marketing airline on the ticket may be different.
